The company produces dinnerware through a network of affiliates across the tribal regions of Northeast India, ensuring that each affiliate has the skills and machinery needed to produce superior-quality areca nut products.

About the Founders:

​Arindam Dasgupta is the co-founder and CEO of Tamul Plates, which produces biodegradable plates from areca sheets.​ An alumnus of the Institute of Rural Management, Anand, he focuses on sustainability while creating local jobs. His work promotes eco-friendly practices and supports communities, reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility.

Debaleena Ray co-created the first ever woman operated arecanut leaf plate making cluster in North East India. This cluster not only generated revenue but showed its strength when Covid hit. In a situation, where all sources of income dried up, this cluster continued generating income for their families and proved the efficacy of the model. Today she building the cluster vertical in the company and replicating the model in a larger area at a much faster rate.
